Format for current data
You receive the data in a text file in the following format:
day-month-year hour:minute:second depth current direction current speed
Time
The time is given in UTC, which is the same as the Danish standard time minus 1 hour. Summer time in Denmark begins from the last Sunday in March until the last Sunday in October. Danish summer time is UTC plus 2 hours.
The Depth
The depth is indicated in metres from the sea surface and down to the level which the current measurement refers to.
Current direction
The current direction is indicated in degrees and is the direction that the current flows against. The direction is calculated from North 0 clockwise. Therefore, the direction of the northbound current is 0 degrees, eastbound current 90 degrees, southbound current 180 degrees, and westbound current 270 degrees.
The current’s speed is in cm/s.
