Conditions for maritime surveys
Foreign surveying vessels
If foreign ships/vessels are used, they must have the Foreign Ministry’s permission to work in Danish territory. This authorisation must be obtained from the Danish Maritime Safety Administration for the treatment of private foreign-owned ships. If foreign government ships are used, applications for permission to work in Danish territory should be sent via the diplomatic channels from the state of the flag.
Observed objects which are a danger to traffic
If the survey discovers objects or long depths which could be a danger to navigation, the Navy Operations Command and the Danish Maritime Safety Administration should be contacted immediately.
Oil spills
If an oil spill is detected from the wreck during the search of the wreck, the Navy Operational Command and the Danish Maritime Safety Administration must be contacted immediately.
Carry the survey permit
A copy of the survey permit must be carried aboard all measuring vessels, and must be shown at the request of ships of the Navy Operational Command and the Danish Maritime Safety Administration (an electronic copy in PDF format is acceptable).
Delivery of measurement data
After the survey is completed, the digital measurement data and a list of larger objects should be sent to the Danish Maritime Safety Administration. The Danish Maritime Safety Administration reserves the right to use the measurements and data free of charge. This includes the right to put the received data into the Danish Maritime Safety Administration’s depth database, as well as using the received data for the publication of maritime charts and nautical publications.
