    What should the application contain? 

    Applications for a maritime survey should be sent to the Danish Maritime Safety Administration, and it should be with us at least 4 weeks before it is planned to begin.

    When you seek permission for a maritime survey, your application should contain the following information:

    Applicant: Name, address, company/department, postcode, town, e-mail and  telephone number.

    Commissioner of relevant survey
    : Company/department, address, contact person, postcode, town, e-mail and telephone number.

    Location of survey: Exact measurements of the area where the survey is to be carried out, with corner coordinates for the area, given both in UTM and geographical coordinates (degrees, minutes and decimal minutes) in WGS84.
    Purpose of survey.

    Time the survey is planned to begin and expected to end.

    Vessel information: State which kind of vessel is intended for use, with information on each vessel’s name, nationality, call signal, IMO number, MMSI number and ownership.

    Survey equipment: State what survey equipment will be used for the survey.

    Geotechnical bed investigations: If you want to perform geotechnical bed investigations in connection with the surveying operation, this must be stated in the application. If work is planned  in a cable or pipe field, the owner’s permission must be given and must be enclosed.

    Declaration that the Telecommunications Agency  has authorised the establishment of any necessary electronic positioning systems.

    Declaration that the survey work will always be inspected and monitored by the Danish Maritime Safety Administration.

    Declaration that the survey results will not be disclosed to anyone other than the person who has ordered the work to be done. If the outcome includes supply material or similar, it must be signed and certified to assure that it must not be disclosed to unauthorised persons, but may only be used in connection with the  stated operation and returned to the owner after use.

    Declaration that after the termination of the survey, the survey data is sent to the Danish Maritime Safety Administration, and  the Danish Maritime Safety Administration is free to use the received measurements and information, including the addition of received data in the Danish Maritime Safety Administration’s depth database and use of the received data in the publication of nautical charts and nautical publications.
