Souvenirs
Historical wrecks
Permission to salvage wrecks that are protected by the Museum Law are only given in exceptional cases. The law covers all wrecks that sank more than 100 years ago, or wrecks that the Heritage Agency consider to be of particular historical significance.
Navigation
If we consider that the diving operation will inconvenience navigation(e.g. shipping routes, dug-out channels, etc.), you cannot get permission for the removal of souvenirs.
Existing permits
We will not allow the removal of any souvenirs from wrecks where permission has already been granted to other parties for salvaging or the removal of souvenirs during the requested time period.
Souvenir permission is granted for a specified period, which rarely exceeds one year.
Fished up items
Items that have been fished up must not be put up for sale.
Transfers
A souvenir permit may not be transferred in any way to others without written consent from the Danish Maritime Safety Administration.
